Norm Macdonald

Norm Macdonald got his big break in 1987 at the “Just for Laughs” comedy festival in Montreal, and is best known for his stint on “Saturday Night Live” as a regular cast member and “Weekend Update” anchor. A native of Ottawa, Canada, Norm Macdonald eventually took his act to the states where he wrote for “Roseanne” and “The Dennis Miller Show” before joining “Saturday Night Live” in 1993. Macdonald was asked to read for “Weekend Update” and replaced Kevin Nealon a year later. He was a regular cast member for the next four years and eventually left the show in 1998. Macdonald went on to star in the hit movie “Dirty Work,” and the TV sitcom “Norm,” which lasted three seasons on ABC. In 2006, he launched his comedy album, “Ridiculous,” which featured Will Farrell, Artie Lange, and Molly Shannon. Today, Macdonald continues his passion for poker – he’s competed in the last couple “World Series of Poker” tournaments.
